Director Heather McNeil asked Janet Temple to report on the Community Summit which was very well attended by about 60 people.  One of the important pieces on this summit was that the work groups have formed legs of their own and that Youth & Family is not going to have to manage the groups.  The four groups are Community Networking, Youth Employment, Community Calendar and Volunteer Data Base.
The Turkey Drive will be November 23 & 24 with the police at Stop & Shop collecting and pick up will be the 25th and 26th at the Police Department.
The Exchange Club donated $2,000.00 to Youth & Family for their programs.  Director Heather met with the superintendent last week regarding the Freshman Retreat.  The program has proven to be very beneficial to all.
The Holiday Giving and Warm the Children programs are getting underway.  Families need to apply to Y&F for gifts for kids up to the age of 18.  Y & F ask families in the community and businesses to adopt a family; so far they have received 89.  Pickup for gifts, paper & tape will be December 18 & 19 at the Firehouse.  Last year they serviced over 300 kids.
